Announcement of 12th International Workshop on the Interrelationship between Plasma Experiments in Laboratory and Space (IPELS)
Based on many contributions from attendants, we had the 12th International Workshop on the Interrelationship between Plasma Experiments in Laboratory and Space (IPELS) (US-Japan Workshop on Physics of Plasma Merging and Magnetic Reconnection) successfully from the morning of July 1 to the evening of July 5, 2013 at The Hakuba Tokyu Hotel (http://www.hakuba-r.tokyuhotels.co.jp/english/index.html) in Nagano, Japan.
As a 20-year old tradition, we brought together active members of the laboratory, space and astrophysics plasma physics communities from around the world and we also fostered intellectual interaction and scientific collaboration addressing the processes responsible for various common plasma phenomena.
We had both oral sessions (consisting of tutorial, invited and contributed talks)
and poster sessions.
The following was a list of topics covered:
Shock, Heating and Particle Acceleration
High Energy Density Physics
MHD & Self-Organizations
Wave & Turbulence, Wave-particle interaction
Dynamo & Jet & Flow
Thank you again for your contributions to IPELS2013!
We will see you again at Scotland in 2015!
